Contribution towards the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations:

SDGs are the international goals, set by world leaders at the United Nations in September 2015.

“The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.”

Ever since human was born, the surrounded environment in which we live is gradually taken towards destruction in the process of self-serving benefits and industrial revolution. Recently, the issue of sustainability is not just bound with the environment but also has concerns on socioeconomic and health sectors. Water and food security is becoming a serious issue in the advent of climate change.

The 17 SDGs are strongly integrated—the member states recognize that action in one area will affect the outcomes in others and that development must balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability.The Member States are working for the Sustainable Development Goals with an agenda of socioeconomic and health equality for everyone by 2030. It is the dire need of time for each country, each organization, even a single person irrespective of colour, race, religion, and boundaries to come forward and contribute toward the 17 SDGs.

Farmroid is working hard towards achieving SDGs by retaining the surrounding environment clean and safe. We, at Farmroid, are struggling for clean and safe UVC LED technologies by improving our wisdom in the fields of UV photonics, and Band engineering of AlGaN-based Far-UVC LEDs, which can contribute to the future of mankind. Therefore, we are strongly concerned for:

Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being

  • Strive to end the epidemics of water-borne diseases and other communicable diseases through air, water, food and surface sterilization by UV technology.
  • Promoting a safe and clean environment with LEDs, thereby minimizing the use of harmful products and chemicals that cause air, water, and soil pollution as well as contamination.
  • Enrichment of plants by growing under UV technology, which triggers the plant to give out phytochemicals, thereby improving its resistance against the cancerous cells.

Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitization

  • Provide clean and safe water to drink after improving the water quality by sterilization through UVC technology.
  • Reduce polluting water by minimizing the use and release of hazardous chemicals and materials into water, thereby promoting safer and greener LEDs over UV lamps.

Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

  • Ensure universal access to affordable, reliable, and modern energy services by developing UV technologies that are economical, energy-efficient, and neither pollute the environment nor cause harm to a living thing.

Goal 13: Climate Action

  • Use smarter and greener UV LED technologies, which is not emitting any hazardous substances including Hg, As, Sb and CO2 that are responsible for climate change.
